Kate Lester started her own business in 1992, aged just 20. She has extensive knowledge of the courier industry and associated fields. Kate has had interests in businesses as wide-ranging as event management and property development.
Kate’s an entrepreneur who loves to work on turn-around projects, accelerated growth or start-ups of small to medium size enterprises.
Kate was Chairman of the Despatch Association, committee member and National Courier Association Personality of the Year and one of the founding directors of DA Systems and Webforce Logistics.
Kate was finalist in the 2008/2009 Surrey Business Awards for Surrey Business Person of the Year, finalist in the Toast of Surrey Awards in 2010 as Business Personality of the Year, and, in 2012, won Entrepreneur of the Year for Guildford with the Entrepreneurs Circle (winning the national awards for December).
Passionate about rewarding the unsung heroes in the workplace, she sponsored her own awards: Surrey Office Star in 2008 and 2009.
In 2011 she was cited as number 11 in the Twenty Most Influential People in Surrey.
She has worked in many sectors of the transport and logistics industry, from a Surrey-based 24-hour haulage operation, through to same day courier, internet fulfilment and logistical software provision. In 2013 Kate won Entrepreneur of the Year and Diamond was runner up in the Toast of Surrey Awards.
2014 saw Kate opening her 17th depot in the UK. Her depots continue to win prizes with Paul Latham of Derby winning an Institute of Couriers Award in October 2014.
2015 plans include more depots, and in February Kate became a Fellow of the Institute of Couriers, in recognition of her services to the industry.
Diamond Logistics has been listed in City AM’s Link 100 companies to watch in 2015.
She is the mother of two great kids, Chloe and Oscar, who have shared her entrepreneurial journey from day one. She loves nothing better than cooking for friends from her seafront home in Brighton.

Multi-award-winning entrepreneur, Zoe Jackson MBE, set up the Living the Dream Performing Arts Company at the age of 16 in 2006 to inspire young people and to subsidise her own performing arts education.
Over the last nine years, Living the Dream has grown to include a school of performing arts, a professional dance company, a talent agency and a charity, the Dream Foundation.
Zoe is passionate about championing young talent, creating access to the arts, entertaining audiences and inspiring young people to live their dreams.
In June 2015, Zoe was honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List with an award of the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to young entrepreneurs and the performing arts. This year Zoe also received the first ‘Queen’s Young Leaders Award’ recognising 60 young people across the Commonwealth who are making a difference in their communities.
